Golfweek magazine distinguishes Dunas Golf Course among the best courses in the world

The course in Terras da Comporta is the highest ranked in the Iberian Peninsula and the sixth in continental Europe, just one year after its inauguration

Dunas Golf Course, located in Terras da Comporta and developed by Vanguard Properties, has won a place in Golfweek's demanding Best 2025: Top 100 International Courses ranking. The course was classified as the best in the Iberian Peninsula and the sixth in continental Europe, in a list that distinguishes the 100 best courses outside the United States.

The selection is made by a large panel of experts from the Golfweek Audience Network, who evaluate each course based on ten strict criteria - from design to maintenance, including the playing experience. The data is the result of a weighted average of the evaluators' individual ratings, in a methodology recognized for its strictness and impartiality.

Open to the public only in 2023, Dunas Golf Course surprises by appearing next to historic and renowned courses in Europe, surpassed only by three courses in France and two in the Netherlands.

Golfweek has a particularly important reach in the international golf world, with a total audience of around 40 million people. The magazine reaches 53% of all avid golfers in the USA, 47% of golf enthusiasts and 44% of regular golf fans, and is considered one of the most influential voices in the sector.

The Golfweek distinction reinforces Portugal's position among the best golf destinations in Europe and confirms the global impact of the Vanguard Properties project.
